Bangalore Getaway: Mysore

There are many getaway
attractions around Bangalore. Mysore is one among them. Known as the city of Palaces, it was the capital of the erstwhile Wodeyar kingdom. It has a pleasant weather and gives you enough sight seeing opportunities. Some of the major highlights include Mysore Palace, Mysore Zoo and Vrindavan Garden.
Built in Indo-Saracenic style, Mysore Palace is the blending of Hindu, Muslim, Rajput and Gothic architecture. A beautiful garden surrounds the palace. Visited by a large number of tourists every year, the palace looks incredible when lit up at night. It becomes city’s centre of attraction during the Dasara festival. Mysore zoo is another major attraction. It houses rare animals brought from different countries of the world. You can spot Gorillas, Hippos, Giraffe, Branary Sheep and many other species of animals here.
Visiting Mysore is incomplete without a visit to the famous Vrindavan Garden. Almost 15 kilometers away from the city centre, this garden gives you a wonderful scope to experience endless rows of flower gardens tracked along the colourful and organized fountain that tails a long way. The dancing fountain that combines water, sound and color is a major attraction of the garden.
