Facebook has recently come out with Facebook lite – the toned down version of Facebook. It is aimed at users who don’t enjoy fast internet connections, mainly in countries like India, China and Russia. Facebook lite has a clean interface which does away with Facebook applications, Chat and removes all the unnecessary graphics to improve loading time. Presently it is only available in India and United States. Facebook lite will be liked with anybody who doesn’t like the present loud version....

Show me someone who doesn’t like Italian food and I’ll show you someone who’s missing out on a lot. Although choices about food are massively personal, Italian food shall always remain likable to about 72 percent of the population. Yes, that percentage just blends with this article. Italian cuisine goes all the way back to the 4th century BC! Even though India does not boast of, or is plunged into the complete list of Italian fare, the food served here is still great, whatever there is. ...

In India, how close are we to authentic Italian taste? With shelves zealously stocked with everything and anything that says ‘Italian’, are we choosing right? A pasta arrabiata at the neighborhood restaurant, a wine uncorked at home, browsing ingredients for a pizza at a mart – do we have a benchmark? Fret not, there is a solution. So that we soak in all the information about the quality, variety and authenticity of food and wine from Europe, the European Union and Italian Government have organized...

Looks like the world wants to occupy a piece of India and this time India doesn’t seem to mind. All over ‘wild’ cuisine restaurants have been springing up. Now wild because our home grown palates, more or less, isn't used to this world fare. Not to make this sound like a cliché but Indians now have awesome and massive choices when it comes to food. Now and more than ever before you can order rum-filled strawberry daiquiris or ‘mille fuille’ of cheese with Bolognese sauce. The list of authentic...

If you thought you could never be in 007 a.k.a. Pierce Brosnan’s place when he coolly sips a Martini from a glass made of ice while sitting in a bar created entirely out of ice in the hit 2002 movie ‘Die Another Day’, re-work those brain cells and think again. Delhi has been blessed with its first authentic Ice Bar in India – Ice Lounge. Mirage Entertainment – the firm behind the Ice Lounge got the world’s best ice carvers who crafted and installed 35 tonnes of crystal clear ice imported from...

Not many understand the concept of Organic food, they don’t understand it and go on to write about it (um uh no it’s not what you’re thinking.) When asked about organic food, here is pretty much what you’ll hear – “Yeaah organic is like healthy stuff or something like that” *bursts out laughing* “It tastes so bad. No, I have not tasted it myself” “It’s expensive and they give you so little” “We have organic food in India?” And that is how our cognition functions after...

Matching food and wine seems like a complex equation, something most of us will never go into because fixing a spaceship and having a drink with the Martian seems much easier. Though there are rules, like there are rules in every aspect of life, which you must keep in mind, experimenting with different food –wine pairs is encouraged as well. If a particular food-wine pairing goes well, try it again. Exciting experimentations never hurt anyone. Regional wines are paired with food in countries...

Simply put, a potluck party is when all guests bring in food, and so there’s a nice variety of yum food around. People (and me too!) think this is one of the best party concepts around as it takes some pressure off the host. It’s a win –win situation for all. People meet up, there’s plenty of food around and the host isn’t as tired! One tip is to decide beforehand who will bring what type of food. You don’t want to end up with only salads at your party. Some people ask their guests to think...

Gurgaon just might have left Delhi far behind eating its dust in the race for entertainment city. Gurgaon has the advantage of alcohol license at family joints and malls *many exclamation marks* and is making the absolute most of it. The newly opened Blue-o at Gurgaon attracts hordes of visitors. The brand name (PVR), advertising and the tag of ‘biggest bowling alley in India’ must have something to do with it but me thinks the underlying success factor is beer! Yes, one can lazily slip beer...

It is something which is beyond me. Something I have thought about, pondered about while driving and while not driving and fretted over. I don’t understand why drivers in Delhi think they’re in a Technicolor videogame while driving. Not just any videogame, videogame of the violent, blow-up-things-earn-extra-cash, cause distress and general havoc in city kind. I haven’t really observed drivers in other cities so I can’t really comment on other cities. Drivers in Delhi have no respect for other drivers...
