Carma is not just a boutique to pick designer clothes. It is a beautiful space, a celebrated destination and an elegant tribute to the quintessential woman.
Carma was born when the concept of fashion boutiques was nascent, evolving into a legendary ‘first’. It brought together, the first generation of Indian designers and their cherished, design-aware clientele with the option of world-class haute couture. And gradually, it started to encourage and welcome whom we see today as the leading designers of the country and who had just stepped into untested waters back then.
The original Carma was opened in Mehrauli - Carma @ The Qutab allowed the Bengal based Indian maestro Sabyasachi Mukherjee, to spread his wings of creativity through his coveted, extended merchandise at this stand alone destination.
Carma @ Malcha is a more contemporary avatar and was established in year 2008. Designed by Ambrish, Carma @ Malcha is located in a space split over 3 levels and the store stands out for it clever use of space and restrained use of material.
This November, Carma turns 20 and as we look back we see how Carma has continued to evolve with time and tradition by housing the elegant and the daring, the exotic and the sensuous - all representing the myriad faces of the eternal woman. Carma is a space that is cherished for being the first to bring together Indian designers and their clientele to explore world-class haute couture and for that, Carma's journey will also be special.
