Thiruvananthapuram gets you the best of South Indian delicacies like Idli, Dosa, Sambhar, Rasam, and Rice. Kerala Fish Curry cooked in coconut milk is a sought-after dish here. Equally delicious are Nadan Chicken Curry, Unniyappam and Vermicelli Payasam. The traditional eating joints may serve your food on banana leaves in truly authentic style. Some of the best restaurants include Octopus Restaurant (Pulinkudi), The Regency (M.G. Road), Parthas Restaurant (Power House Road) etc.

Octopus restaurant is well-known for serving a range of flavoursome cuisines starting from the Indian to the Western. They entertain guests with live classical music which is a pleasing experience. Separate smoking and non-smoking zones are available. It remains open from 7.00 a.m. to 11.00 p.m.

The Regency is a multi-cuisine restaurant conveniently located at the heart of the city. It is one of the wings of the South Park Hotel. The ambiance is perfect and delicacies mouth watering. The restaurant accepts almost all major credit cards and remains open from 12.30 p.m. to 3.00 p.m. and 7.30 p.m. to 11.30 p.m.

Parthas is a 40-seater restaurant which serves a good variety of South Indian as well as Continental cuisines. Live Music, T.V. Theatre and shopping facilities are available here. It operates from 9.00 a.m. to 8.00 p.m.
