People are falling in love every minute somewhere all around the globe. This sentence is the only cliché in this article, I promise. It’s great except when the forces of society, history and stereotypes get in the way. Love across religion, color, caste, nationality, you name it, is still not accepted. Maybe times are changing, the only thing is, they’re not. Exceptions are okay, but the majority isn’t. Closer home, our people face objections and rejections purely because of caste/religion differences. Who would want to see the qualities of the person when religion isn’t the same, moreover love is not even considered here, isn’t it just something kids do, something they think they know but in reality don’t - Is what the ‘wise’ say. What has religion got to do with love? So the person is from a different religion, some habits may be different, brought up differently, prays to a different God, in a different manner, yada, yada, yada. Still don’t see the connection really. Besides wh..

international, facts, Women’s Day

“Women are the better half of men.” Created beautifully in the most special way and endowed with the finest virtues and qualities by the Creator himself, woman completes the world (both home and outside world). Woman is the epitome of unconditional love and compassion. The charm that never fails to mesmerize and the warmth that keeps you sane in times of pain and adversity is HER. Yes, today is International Women’s Day – 8 March. This year marks the centenary of International Women’s Day. The history of Women’s Day dates back to the year 1910, thanks to the zeal of a woman named Clara Zetkin, leader of the 'Women's Office' for the Social Democratic Party in Germany. She put forward the idea to dedicate a single day as International Women’s Day out of 365 days in the second International Conference of Working Women that was held in Copenhagen. This day is meant to push forward demands of women. The proposal met with thumping approval from over 100 women from 17 countries, repr..

Latest News from 2010 Men's Hockey World Cup, New Delhi The Phoenix is still sleeping Their impressive win in the first face-off match against the arch rival Pakistan inspired many to believe that a phoenix is rising from its ashes. But the euphoria was born to die within next two matches. After being spanked by the Aussies in a 5-2 count, team India tumbled down second time when Spain also outplayed them by 5-2 in a crucial Pool B World Cup hockey match at the Dhyan Chand Stadium on Thursday. The two continued failures virtually dimmed the host country’s chance to surge ahead to at least the semifinal. “I cheered for India because I believed the team could really play well in its own ground," said 23 years old management student and hockey enthusiast Debasree Bhattacharya. “After the great win against Pakistan, I was really excited and thought that the process of retaining our hockey’s lost glory started now, but my hopes had to diminish,” continued Bhattacharya. Taylor Swift's VMA Moment Ruined by Kanye West

Much has been written about the Kanye West – Taylor Swift drama at the Video Music Awards (VMA) and by ‘much’ I mean A LOT. For those of you who don’t know, here is what happened. (And wake up will you :p) Taylor Swift won the ‘Best female Video at MTV’s 2009 VMA for the song ‘you belong with me’ beating Beyonce’s ‘single ladies.’ Taylor is happy and comes on stage to receive the award. She holds the award in her hand and grabs the mic to thank people. She begins her speech and starts saying thanks. Before she could continue further, Kanye West jumps on stage, grabs the mic from Taylor and says ‘“Yo Taylor, I’m really happy for you, I’ll let you finish, but Beyonce has one of the best videos of all time. One of the best videos of all time!” Taylor Swift was left dumbfounded and shocked and Beyonce sat astonished and horrified. When Kanye gave Taylor the mic back, her time was up and she left the stage in a hurry, upset. On the other side, when Beyonce won the Video of the Year award, she invited Taylor Swift on stage so she could complete her acceptance speech. Whose side are you on? Support Kanye? Or want to smash all his awards? Let us know!
