Located in Kalkaji opposite to the Lotus Temple, Kalkaji Temple is believed to be one of the oldest temples of Delhi which dates back to eighteenth century. Dedicated to Kalka Devi, the reincarnation of Goddess Durga, the temple is thronged by numerous pious devotees. On festivals and occasions, specially Navratra, the temple enlightens up with charismatic beauty and pious devotees, who celebrate their holy festival inside the premises of the temple. There are several legends interconnected to the holy temple. Some people believe that the Kali deity inside the temple dates back to three thousand years whereas the oldest portion of the temple was established in eighteenth century. But the faith and belief of the devotees surpass the different legends associated with the temple. You can visit the temple from 4 AM to 9:30 PM throughout the week.
