Editor’s Note of The Kettle Drum, Hauz Khas

Attached to the lovely Spell & Bound bookstore in SDA Market, is this chirpy little cafe by the name the Kettle Drum. The place takes you to an unknown place to live an experience that we never get to see in Delhi - the autumn season with bricked walls that are half-faded. The walls are also painted with vines and pumpkins, and topped with cute furniture and the air-conditioned chill that makes you think that you are at some place else, experiencing the beauty of the fall season. When you are done day-dreaming, order something. The food and service are good, but nothing exceptional. The menu is small and the dishes served here are mainly Italian and Continental. Some dishes we liked here were Spanish Corn Crepes, Three Bean Salad, Greek Salad with Feta Cheese and Mushroom Risotto. Have the Lemon Cake for sweet somethings. Go if you want to try something different; the warmth of the place and the service will bring you back.
