Editor’s Note of The Vinyl Records Live, Sector - 30, Gurgaon

Catch 'The Vinyl Records'-an all-girl band from Arunachal Pradesh, play live at Lemp Brewpub and Kitchen, Gurgaon on June 27. The band was formed by Banu, Minam and Mithy in Feb 2010. However, the bands popularity hit the roof when the lead playback singer and keytarist Cherriyan Bank from Assam joined them in Jan 2011. TVR describes their sound as indie rock, post punk and the sound from new wave eras of 70s and 80s when analog and early digital sound was popular. Their influences include C.S.S., The B52s, Blondie, The Clash, The Ramones, The Strokes, Arctic Monkeys; fusing indie and post punk with a dash of glam rock kitsch with the keytar! The band had themselves featured on MTV F1 rocks 2011.
