Race Course, Delhi

About Race Course, Delhi

Situated south of Central New Delhi, Race Course is off the reach of common people, mainly because it houses the residence of the Prime Minister of India. This is also where the Delhi Gymkhana Golf Club is located, which can be reached from Safdarjung Road.

The Prime Minister’s residence is known as Panchavati, built during 1980s. It is often known as 7, Race Course Road or abbreviated as 7, RCR. Its first occupant was Rajiv Gandhi and his family. Because of being permanent prime ministerial abode, the road has tightened security all the time a year. When the road ends in its north-west side, it stretches up to Teen Murti Road, Akbar Road, Safdarjung Road, and Rajaji Road.
