Editor’s Note of Nitya Sagar, Colaba

Located just opposite to Regal Cinema in Colaba, Nitya Sagar is an entrepreneurial venture of Chef Deepak Pundir who has worked at the Oberoi for more than 10 years. Rather than being a fancy joint, Nitya Sagar is a value-for-money, seafood specialty restaurant that has been built on the similar lines as that of Mahesh Lunch Home. So you can use your hands to get your way into the succulent crabs and shellfish without feeling embarrassed. The menu is a mix of Japanese, Thai, Chinese, Indian and Continental. The food is good but you expect more from a restaurant which is owned and managed by a five star chef and we feel that they can do much better. Some of the dishes we liked at Nitya Sagar were Prawns Koliwada, Gohari Machhi Seek, Fish in Black Bean Sauce and Fish Garlic and Pepper Sauce.
