If age old attractions pull tourist here every year, the availability of finer facilities for a modern lifestyle and well-to-do communication system is attracting people to make the place their home. Things that get a special mention in the area include the Metro Junction Mall, which stands one of the biggest malls in Mumbai. Balaji Temple, Swaminarayan Temple are located in Nerul while DY Patil Stadium, Yeour hills have their own importance. Together with places like CBD Belapur, Panvel, Panchpakhadi, Kapurbawdi, Nerul, Kalyan, Vashi etc., the whole stretch of places around Mumbai is in one word, ‘happening’.

The district of central suburb is comprised of areas like Ghatkopar, Sion, Chembur, Bhandup, Mulund, Powai etc.  Being at the heart point, the whole stretch stands as an important place in the city. It is a fastest growing commercial area with good many shopping complexes, financial institutions etc. Factories have been converted into shopping complexes and residential apartments contributing to a rapid shift in the number of its population.

South Mumbai, the southern-most precinct of Mumbai is where a good number of important business localities are situated in. The area is a choice of the city’s elite population and it is being hailed as richest urban precinct of the country. The actual extent of the area has different definitions. Generally, it is stretched from Mumbai Central to Colaba. Some city residents, however, opine that the stretch even includes areas like Mahim. Reserve Bank of India, Bombay Stock Exchange are located here besides many multi-national companies. A good number of important museums, schools and colleges are also housed here.

The whole stretch of West suburbs is a conveniently nestled and strategically important area in Mumbai. The district is collectively comprised of areas like Khar, Santa cruz, Juhu, Andheri suburbs, Vile Parle, Bandra etc. The area is a mix of some of the city’s oldest suburbs that underwent rapid changes over the period of time. The queen of suburbs, Bandra for example, started as a tiny fishing village, later it housed a good number of Christian populations and today it stands as a cosmopolitan place. Mumbai’s only river Mithi flows through the area and Western Railway stations located in many parts connect the district with other areas. Some of the city’s famous attractions, hotels, shopping complexes, and software companies are nestled here.
