The Fine arts Society was started in the year 1972 by a team of selfless volunteers in Chembur to promote classical music, dance and drama for public entertainment. Eventually, it came up with various activities, shamianas were put up at Gandhi Maidan and the first ever Annual Festival of Music, Dance and Drama was held. The membership of the society grew in number and the stature of the organization also broadened. This auditorium taught various musical arts like classical music, as well as Hindustani and Karnataka musical instruments like violin, guitar, tabla, flute, mridang, vocal music and harmonium. Other than this, it teaches Bharat Natyam, Kuchipudi etc. As for the payments, it charges Rs.250 for Bharat Natyam and Rs.200 for admission. It remains open seven days a week from 6:30 AM to 8:30 PM.
