Armored may remind you of Reservoir Dogs that was directed by Quentin Tarantino. The film went on to win 8 awards and 6 nominations. Armored is an action thriller that will you keep you glued to your seat till the end. The film is a struggle about human greed and conscience. Armored is a tale of discontented security guards who, in order to make easy money hatches a plan to hijack their own armored cars carrying worth 42 million. However, their plan goes awry when a homless man saw that unloading the money to an abandoned place. The situation gets more complicated when one person among them doesn’t want to go along with their plan and tries to inform police. In this mayhem, shootings and killings ensues between the cop and the burglars.
Christopher Shorts as Ty Hackett is the man who is torn between his conscience and his finanacial needs. He has criminal record in the past but leaving the past behind he wants to lead a new life with honesty. With a troubled teenage brother to look after and a house that runs the risk of foreclosing by the bank, making easy moneyby anymeans seems be the only option left for Ty. So when he is approached by Mike Cochrane (Matt Dillon), one of the security guards with the offer to steal the money from their armored cars, it was too tempting to be resisted.
The first half of Armored is not so interesting as it is overdone with emotion. The film stars taking off once the actual robbery takes place. The chasings, the shootings and the suspense are the thriller ingredients that will give you adrenaline rush.
Acting by all the actors is good. It was nice to see Matt Damon in a negative role, shedding his good image. Christopher Shorts has done a nice job in this flick.
Armored is worth your money. Watch it for the thrill factor!
