This angry old man has a style statement. He disbelieves that he is aged; he still churns out romantic dialogues, he can dance with many girls, and he can even fight it out like a pro. Amitabh Bachchan, that is. Bbuddah... Hoga Terra Baap is a tribute to the phenomenon and out and out an Amitabh Bachchan film, if not anything different. The script is a disappointment, the story is too dull, the treatment is boring, but because Amitabh Bachchan is written all over it, the film works.
Old but brave Viju (Amitabh Bachchan) comes to a city on a mission – To save his troubled son, Karan Malhotra (Sonu Sood) who is a bright honest police officer but on the hit list of underworld don. Kabir (Prakash Raj) has his underworld empire and is seemingly troubled by the doings of Karan. To wipe him out, the don hires a hitman. On the other hand, Viju charts out a plan to win Kabir’s confidence to join his gang so that he remains updated about every effort of Kabir. However, Karan remains unaware that his father is following him.
One day a member of Kabir’s gang shoots Karan and makes him seriously ill. Viju succeeds to rush Kabir to hospital. Post the incident, Viju comes to Kabir and plays a mind game to teach Kabir a lesson. Will Viju succeed? What about Kabir and his gang? The climax has the answers.
The story mainly stresses on Amitabh Bachchan than its substance. The script lacks its tone. The script has been written with an idea to create emotion, but it fails to have a bang. The first half of the film is too dull and boring. The direction is ordinary. The only best thing here is Ambitabh Bachchan. He plays a convincing role with pure brilliance. To end, Bbuddah... Hoga Terra Baap is certainly made for only the diehard AB fans.
