Editor’s Note of Chitrakoot Art Gallery, Gariahat

Established in 1990, Chitrakoot Art Gallery is located at Gariahat Road, Kolkata. The main aim behind the establishment of this gallery is to gather all the modern and heritage works of arts at one place and promote the works of great artists. The gallery displays traditional prints, watercolors, paintings and sculptures, as well as contemporary works made in mixed media. Among the prominent artists are Aditya Basak, Amiyo Bhattacharjee, Balaka Bhattacharjee, Bikash Bhattacharjee, Ashok Hazra and Bimal Kundu. In addition to exhibitions, the gallery organizes workshops, art camps and auctions. It is branching out to New Delhi also.
