The Maidan and Fort William, located in central Kolkata at Chowringhee, are renowned tourist spots in the city. Maidan, which means open field, is one of the largest city parks in the city. It is a vast stretch of field and home to numerous play grounds like the famous cricket stadium at Eden Gardens, several football stadiums as well as Kolkata Race Course. The Chowringhee road is lined up with shops, offices, hotels and eating places that makes it a perfect place for shopping. Maidan is a good place for tourists as it is the central point from where you can access all other cites. Other than this, Fort William is yet another tourist spot that is situated on the east bank of the river Hooghly. Both of these two places are best to relax and enjoy the cool atmosphere.
