Amber Fort of Jaipur is among the best hilltop forts of India. The construction of the hotel started in 1592 during the reign of Raja Maan Singh but completed during the reign of Raja Jai Singh. The fort decoration is influenced by both Hindu and Muslim manner of adornment. The hunting scene paintings on the walls represent the spirit of the Rajputs, who were adventurous, revolutionary and self-indulgent. And increasing the fort’s beauty, Moatha Lake reflects the fort’s illusion. The sprawling Amber Fort encompasses mighty gates, temples, huge ornate halls, palaces, pavilions, gardens and even a ramp to be climbed by well-cladded elephants to take you to the hilltop palace. Other fort attractions include old Amber Palace, Shila Mata temple, Diwan-i-Am or Hall of Public Audience, Ganesh Pol and Suhaag Mandir, Diwan-i-Khas, Sukh Niwas and Jai Mandir. Around the palace, you can also visit Jagatsiromani Temple, Temple of Sanwalji and Panna Mian ki Baoli. The fort is open from 7 AM till 7 PM for visitors on all days except Sundays.
