About Karmanghat, Hyderabad
It is a residential locality of Hyderabad and houses a historic Karmanghat Hanuman Temple, a 400 year old Hindu shrine. Initially called Dhyananjaneya temple, it is said that when king Aurangazeb tried to get this temple destroyed, he heard a loud voice which said, “Hey rajan mandir todna hai to pehle tum karo man ghat.” With the passage of time the 'Karo Man Ghat' changed to Karmanghat and the region came to be called Karmanghat. The temple is spread over an area of three acres. Karmanghat also has a Bombino factory.
The place boasts of some good function halls such as Vanga Anantha Reddy Gardens, Kothakapu Yadava Reddy Gardens, Chandra Gardens, Sumangali and so on. Theatres like Indra, Nagendra and SriLaxmi are also present here. Karmanghat houses several wholesale rice shops. There are plenty of good schools in the region like Neo Royal High School, Dilsukhnagar Public School, Vignyan High School and so on.
Andhra Pradesh State Road Transport Corporation buses connect it with other parts of the city. The bus station is situated in the vicinity and the closest MMTS train station is located at Malakpet.
