Editor’s Note of Lake Sports Complex, Sector - 1

Lake Sports Complex is situated in Chandigarh. The idea of creating this complex was conceived by Mr. A.L. Fletcher ICS, the then Financial Commissioner Development, Punjab Government. Initially started with just 500 members, this sports complex has all modern amenities and is today counted as one of the top sports complexes in the country. Run by the Chandigarh Sports Council, this complex offers a host of water sports and other activities that include canoeing, rowing and boating etc. Other features include tennis courts, billiards room, swimming pool, horse riding and a library. This multi-facility sports club also houses a restaurant. Membership is however available to the residents of Chandigarh only. Lake Sports Complex remains open daily from 6 AM to 9 PM.
