Located in the western borders of Ahmedabad, Vastrapur is popular for housing renowned Indian Institute of Management and Apang Manay Mandal which is educational institution for handicapped. The area is also famous for the Vastrapur Lake.It is considered to be one of the fastest growing localities of Ahmedabad and is situated beside the Sarkhej-Gandhinagar Highway, an area popular for restaurants and shopping malls.

The futuristic electric cremeation house is housed here. Other landmarks of this region are gurudwara and the Nehru foundation / Center for Environment Education.The tourists attractions here include Sundaram Snake Par, Bhav Nizar Temple, Shreyas Folk Museum and Ashram. Vastrapur homes several village workers working with different cotton spinning and manufacturing mills across the city.
