Fatehpur Sikri is located at a distance of 37 Km from the Agra city. This monument in Red Stone was built in 1571 with the effort of Mughal emperor Akbar in honor of the Sufi saint, Sheikh Salim Chisti. According to a legend he was blessed with a baby boy only with the blessings of Sufi saint, Sheikh Salim Chisti. Fatehpur Sikri is one of the finest examples of Mughal architectural splendour and also the best example of the Hindu and Muslim Architecture. Fine attractions at Fateh Pur Sikri includes Diwan-I-Am, Diwan Khana - I - Khaas, Turkih Sultana's House, The treasury, Daulat-Khana- Khaas, Place of Jodha Bai, Birbal's Palace, Buland Darwaza and more. This Fort remains open for public from between 8 AM and 8 PM. Entry is permitted for Indians paying Rs.50 per person and foreigners have to pay Rs. 485 per person.
